Somehow your cookie for the site got messed up. You need to delete the cookie and then log in and it should create a new cookie for you. To delete the cookie right click start. Select explore. The cookies folder is in the same place as the favorites folder inside Documents and Settings. Delete the cookie that ends with @forum.

HI Scott,

Just came across this and I found the cookie in my cookie folder.I would like to auto login as i'm always "offending " cos I can't be bothered to sign in lol! How do I set myself up so that it logs me in automatically when I visit the forum?
Happy new Year and thanks in advance!

Elaine, when logging into the forum just check the box that says to log you in automatically. If it doesnt work read my first post in this thread.

HI Scott

I had already deleted the cookie(and a load others!) so am testing this as I've ticked the auto box now.
I couldn't post under my ID unless I manually logged in -as usual! :(

The forum software put the logout at the top. Actually it is for security reasons. If you share a computer you dont want another person going to the forum and being already logged in as you.

It is confusing. If you see a button you tend to use it but there is no need to logout each time. I have been on another forum for two years and never logged out.  :D I have never logged out on this one either.  :D

The only problem I have had with never logging out was when the site went down a few weeks ago.  When the site was re-set I had to log in but couldn't remember my ID
Got there in the end and haven't logged out since. :P

I think that is the only reason anyone would want to log out. If you are the only one using the PC then there is no point. As I said I am a member of various forums and I never log out of any of them.  :D
