Some good news for a change
« on: Feb 19 2011, 09:00 AM »
Hi everyone,

For a change I have some good news!  I am going to be a dad at the grand old of 46yrs! LOL!

I saw the 3 month scan yesterday and couldn't believe it when i saw the baby moving around waving its arms and legs up and down!  It is all new to me so it came as quite a surprise when i saw it for the very first time.  Not able to confirm sex as yet - think that is confirmed at 5 months.... also was told that one of the final things to develop by the finish of the 3 month period is the....... wait for it.. EARS!  Mmmm, i'll say no more!

Anyway just thought i'd share that with you all :-)

Hope you're all keeping okay at the minute... my ears are roaring this morning!

Take care,

Simon xx

LOL!  We'll start with one and see how life is and go from there.. maybe we will be lucky in that it sleeps throughout the night, was told that some babies are well behaved so i am hoping that we will be one of the lucky ones!!! Hi everyone,

Just a quick update on the baby - only about 7 weeks now and he'll be here!  Cannot believe how quickly the months have passed by!

Currently doing anti-natal classes... been to second group today which lasted 5 hours.  Just another 4 meets and that is it, 4th meet being a reunion after the babies  have been born!

I have to say though that a lot of the stuff that we have have learned so far has been pretty much 'common sense stuff!'  However, the bit that should have been common sense was the bit when the baby is put inside the cot with its feet touching the bottom end of the cot so that the blankets are unable to cover the baby's face!  Didn't think about that one!

I will update again in a few weeks :-)

Hi Simon

Wow how quick the time goes! I trust Liz is doing ok and keeping well.

You will have a very big journey when your little man appears! It has already begun but boy you have so much to come!! Trust me you will love it all (ok well most of it - you may not be that keen on smelly nappies and sick!!)

Enjoy the next few weeks with Liz as your feet won't touch the ground once he arrives!  :)

Take care

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that i am now finally a dad to little Charlie... i was there when he was born at 8:15am Thursday morning and to be honest i now understand how hard it is for you ladies out there who have given birth. ::)  Liz is trying to breast feed now but it is proving very difficult BUT when she finally manages to get him started things are fine, its just getting it started that is so hard to do?!!!!  Anyway, i'll update again very soon as i am sooooooo tired as i have spent my life at the hospital since beginning of the week but i am sorry for not being around on the forum recently.  Thanks Emma, Sarah, Elaine, Paul for being being there, much appreciated :-)

Wayhey!!  ;D

Congratulations! Little Charlie here safe and sound, fantastic news - hope Liz is doing ok, breast feeding can be tough and it doesnt always work out (I beat myself up for the first 8 weeks with number 1 and really struggled - no2 however was easy as pie so my conclusion if it's right it's right if not don't beat yourself up...if you know what I mean) and that really doesnt matter - happy mum = happy baby!

Look forwards to the FB photos....much love & hugs to you all

Hi everyone, just thought i would add a pic of baby Charlie... he's doing fine at minute and we're managing okay although not easy at night time due the constant 2- 3 hour feeds BUT he does sleep in between his feeds which can't be bad!  I am still feeling wiped out despite managing to get some sleep but i wouldn't want things to be different, he's definitely worth it and me and liz are very very happy with our new addition;)

Lovely moment for you. I never saw my wife`s scan . I had one of those tests for my ears in the hospital and they would not show me my head scan. I wanted to see how thick my skull was.  Silly to want to see that. It survived a cricket ball once. It must be really solid.
