What is good to stop vomiting?
« on: Apr 20 2014, 05:41 AM »
My Doctor prescribed for me to take Dizinil (Dimenhydrinate 50mg) when I get vertigo to stop vomiting.  He also suggested me to take this pill an hour before if I am traveling long distance (flight).

However, I am finding taking this pill itself make me dizziness.

What are the other medicine good for stop the vomiting caused by vertigo.?

I am on Buccastem 3mg Buccal tablets.  I take them when the vertigo first hits.  If I catch it earlier enough then I am not sick.

Thanks for the reply. After my post, I saw a new ENT, who told me that Meniere's will not make you sick or get an attack by traveling. He told me to take the Dizinil (Dimenhydrinate 50mg) only when I know a vertigo attack is approaching.

Buccastem works for me too - put one under your top lip and then lie really still until it starts working!

Does it works if taken once the vomiting started?

It is supposed to, because it goes straight into your bloodstream (not via your stomach) so you don't throw the drug back up.  I'm an emetophobe so I've never waited that long I'm afraid!
