Thx Spinner.. I should have added the url tags...  ;)
How do you manage to ride / race bikes with MD... I'm assuming you're a sufferer ?! I gave my bike to my 16 yr old son as I didn't feel confident enough?!

They are beautiful!  8)

My hobby is riding, and keeping horses.  When I was really bad at the beginning of my MD journey I wasn't able even to balance on a horse sitting still, and any kind of movement set off the nausea.  However I kept at it and things did get better.  I think that (and probably cycling too Spinner) acted as a sort of vestibular rehabilitation therapy - moving in a way that made me dizzy until my brain learned to cope with it.  Perhaps VRT as a consequence of a hobby you love is more likely to be successful than exercises given to you by the doctor, as you have more motivation to keep at it even when it makes you feel bad?

Thx Nutty.
It's really good to hear that "hobbies" can be therapeutic remedies. My problem is that all my hobbies now involve me sitting on my bum! Even if I go course fishing!...but I do get some long walks in on occasions.
Looks like I might need to make some changes ;)

@ Spinner - thx for the offer..but I would be lucky if I could ride 500ft in straight line at the moment.
The last time I rode a bike properly was about 30 years ago. As kids we used to ride 30+ miles on a Sunday just for the sheer fun of it all.

Nutty, I think you hit the nail on the head.  We are more likely to stick with something we enjoy than the physio balance exercises as we have more reward.  I am glad you are able to carry on doing things you love.

Warren,  I have lupus and spinal stenosis as well so struggle with hobbies.  My activities are limited now, my licence has gone and I am housebound quite often due to illness.  I tend to read, I like to watch certain TV programmes, chat with my friends.  I also enjoy baking and have invested in kitchen gadgets to make it easier for me.  I made my husband a black forest gateau as that  is his favourite  ;D
