Reasons to be cheerful
« on: Mar 27 2017, 10:10 AM »
Well the sun is shining this morning and on my bike ride to work I tried to come up with some reasons that Meniere's has made my life better.  So here we are...

  • Better diet (due to low salt diet restrictions).
  • More exercise (through not being able to drive).
  • An excuse not to do things (rarely used but still handy).
  • Relief that it isn't terminal (not really a reason, but I don't thank the stars regularly for this one).
  • Appreciation for all the people that support me.
  • Can't hear my children as well when they have tantrums.
  • Subtitles sometimes tell me more than you would normally hear.
  • An in depth knowledge of the state of my ceilings.
  • Increase in my repertoire of cooking (low salt dishes).
  • Feeling special when my husband makes an effort to create a special low salt dish for me.

I just thought I would share this in the hope that it might help someone else think that it ain't all bad.

That's lovely - thank you! And you are so right. My best friend for the past 43 years has pancreatic cancer- I know which I'd rather have.
